Catapult CAT-100                                                                     $350.00

In ancient times the catapult was used to hurl objects at the enemy. This catapult is used to teach designed experiments and Taguchi Methods. The unit is produced for classroom use to allow students to conduct an experiment and determine the best combination of tilt, spring direction, draw back distance, ball position, and ball type for overcoming the enemy. The unit has five factors, each of which can be varied over three levels. Hundreds have been sold to support Lean Six Sigma and Design of Experiment Training. Joy in learning gives you a practical understanding!

Deming's demonstration of the Red Beads by CBL-2000   $690.00

Consultants and trainers 'on the road' need a sampling bowl that is easily transported. This collapsible sampling bowl folds up and fits in a hard sided case. The bowl has a 13" x 9" x 10" size. It comes with three paddles with 25, 50, and 100 hole patterns and 2600 beads. The sturdy carrying case measures 18" x 13" x 7" with foam padding inside.

Extra Beads: 1000 pcs $50.00 in preferred color at your order.

Quincunx WD-6, with 3 gates and a normal pin block     $1090.00

The top part is holding the beads. Drop one to five beads with every stroke. Move the funnel to simulate adjustments or shifts in a process or a mean. The shift in the funnel becomes an 'assignable cause'. The pins in the pin block simulates random variation of your process. One pin block simulates a normal process, and another pin block an improved process with less variation. This Quincunx has two gates which hold the bead distributions in place for comparison. Compare 2 different production batches with different quality targets (6S) or process targets (lean).

Option: QT-5 Quincunx tutorial on C-Cassette $25.00

Quincunx WD-7                                                   $1190.00

3 gates and an adjustable pin block for shifting variation (sigma-value). Simulate 3 different production batches with different quality goals (6S) or production goals (lean). Change variation with the adjustable pin block.

Option: QT-5 Quincunx tutorial on C-Cassette $25.00

Extra narrow pin block NP-5                                $90.00

Change the variation of WD-6 above. Switch the normal pin block from

WD-6 to this NP-5 to show the effect of less variation in the process, which means improvements – both in LEAN and Six Sigma.

Deming's funnel                                                              $290.00

A bead funnel for dropping a bead, an acrylic stand and a bead are included.

The Deming Dimension, by Dr. Henry R Neave is included.

Notice!
An electronic alternative for the Deming Funnel in Excel is shown below.

Geometric Tolerancing and carrying case              $425.00

Demonstrate the ANSI Y14.5M standard. A book with 10 blue prints are included and a study plan. Demonstrate roundness, cylindricity, line- and surface profiles and position tolerances. The kit includes fifteen solid hardwood pieces. The models interact with one another. A handy carrying case is available recommended for the traveling instructor.

Chip box SCB-7                                                   $295.00

The Chip Box is for demonstrating sampling for estimations about populations. The box has numbered chips with numbers normally distributed. Sampling is simulated by randomly selecting chips and recording the results. The effect of varying sample sizes is dramatized by repeating a number a experiments. The Chip Box is measuring 6" x 6" x 8" and contains 802 chips in four colors.

SB-5 Box     SB-6 Box

SB-5 sampling box for simple sampling                  $350.00

The SB-5 box contain beads in seven different colors. By using various color combinations any percent (from 0.5 to 20.5 %) defective can be sampled. Samples are drawn by turning the box face down and pressing the lever allowing the beads to fall into the openings on the face. The beads will remain in place until the lever is pressed again to release the sample. The SB-5 has a 100 hole sampling pattern on one side only. The SB-5 contains 1000 beads and measures 9¼" x 4½" x 2". Supplied with a vinyl case.

SB-6 Box has 25, 75, 20 and 30 holes on two sides.    $450.00

Cycle Time Simulator CTS-7                                 $395.00

The book The Goal by Eli Goldratt, tutorial and a stop watch are included. Demonstrate production flow and products in process WIP, reduced cycle times C/T, Just In Time JIT, new Value Stream Processes etc.

Prosim for DOE                                                  $190.00

PROSIM is a training package for teaching Taguchi DOE Methods. A quincunx is used to generate designed experiment data. The funnel position is used to simulate the main effect factors and the pin block represents the random error. You help the students visualize the concepts of experimental design. The manual includes one way ANOVA, multiple factor experiments with interactions, and Taguchi Orthogonal Arrays up to L9. A self adhesive scale for the quincunx, student forms, overhead transparencies, and 140+ pages of instructions and demonstrations. Use any quincunx of yours.

Rule 1   Rule 2

Rule 3   Rule 4

The Funnel Simulation by Excel             $90.00

You demonstrate the four ways of management/control, Rules 1 - 4:

Rule 1 - A stable system. Best precision, minimum variation.

Rule 2 - Adjustment by the deviation from target.
           Increased variation +41%.

Rule 3 - Adjustment by the deviation from last aim. Disaster.

Rule 4 - Aim at last hit, "the same procedure as last year - James!"
           The system explodes.

Keep fun!
